Nightlife - Bars & Pubs

HWOOD - Relax in the oasis of sophistication that is HWood. A celebrity favorite, this restaurant and lounge offers both dinner and nighttime entertainment.

360 - The name says it all - the views from the 19th floor are a full 360 degrees. The understated and softly lit interior emphasizes the scene outside, including a spectacular vista of the HOLLYWOOD sign.

AKBAR
- Looks can be deceiving. On the outside, Akbar isn't much to look at with its brown stucco facade and simple sign. Step inside though, and you'll find moody and elegant rooms with plenty of cozy seating in dark nooks.

BEAUTY BAR - What a concept - a cocktail lounge that's a working beauty salon. Decorated with vintage salon gear and sporting a hip-retro vibe, the Beauty Bar is a campy, fun, and trendy place to drink and get coifed.

CIRCLE BAR - A special haunt of the "see and be seen" crowd, this hip Los Angeles bar is particularly popular with the post college crowd. The DJ spins everything from 80s to more progressive beats as the crowd dictates - 2926 Main St, Santa Monica - 310-450-0508

DADDY'S BAR & LOUNGE - Take a refreshing break from the high decibel level at most places and chill at this trendy but not snooty establishment.

EL CARMEN - El Carmen conjures the feel of a back-alley Mexican cantina of a bygone era - without the dust, flies and braying donkeys. The busy bar serves 250 types of tequila and a small menu of tacos and light fare.

STAR SHOES - The scene here is far more energetic than the Beauty Bar, and the DJs are among the best in town.

VODA - There's a vibrant, hip undercurrent that attracts stars such as Robert De Niro and Quentin Tarantino. Enjoy excellent food and generous martinis.

WHITE LOTUS - One look at the curb regularly lined with limos and you know a celebrity sighting could happen at any moment. White Lotus takes the best Asia has to offer and blends it into a menu loaded with influences from Japan, China, Thailand and France.

FATHER'S OFFICE - Has 26 artisan beers on tap and a superb selection of estate wines. Graze on some of the best bar snacks in town while you imbibe.

MUSSO & FRANKS GRILL - Few establishments can claim William Faulkner drank here - Musso & Frank’s can. This historic Hollywood cornerstone serves cocktails and light snacks.

TOM BERGIN'S TAVERN - This traditional Irish pub with veteran bartenders is as authentic as it gets.

RAINBOW BAR & GRILL - Spend a few hours here trying to read the labels of the gold records that line the walls. Most recently a haven for Rock icons like Poison, Van Halen and Slash, the menu is classic diner style fare.

SADDLE RANCH CHOP HOUSE - Practice your best urban cowboy skills when you take a turn on the mechanical bull. This is a huge venue with even bigger meal portions.
